Last night was week 2 of my drawing class. We devote half of our time to drawing on a large newsprint pad, and the other half to working on a more complete product in our sketchbook. The focus of this class was to work on translating what we see onto paper. Easier said than done.... Even with my handy viewfinder, I had trouble documenting the random wood shapes, coffee pots and dodecahedron.
Here are the keys lessons I learned last night:
1. Draw what you see.
2. Don't think too much.
3. Practice! The more you draw, the better you'll get.
During my break, I looked this book of artist's sketches.
I found this artist, Simonetta Capecchi inspiring. These are pages from her sketchbook.
Happy Tuesday!
