Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work

Last Saturday, I went to see Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work at the Laurelhurst Theater. This documentary followed Joan for a year. She is hands down the hardest worker I have ever seen! She would not rest until her planner was completely full. She never says no to an opportunity, no matter where it is or how busy she might be. This documentary portrayed Joan as she really is, and I learned so much about her. One of my favorite facts about her is that she tries to write down every joke on an index card. She has an entire wall filled with drawers and drawers of jokes that are filed via subject. She's had a difficult life, and at 76 still struggles with acceptance and self-esteem issues.

Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary. It was funny, sad, inspiring and definitely worth more than the $3 I paid to see it!

    Joan Rivers, age 76.
